01 / The practical guide
Where is it?
On Vis’s southern coast, west of Mala Travna. Do not confuse it with similarly named coves on Hvar.

How do you get there?
The tourist board describes access from Žužeca by a steep, demanding footpath; the descent can take more than twenty minutes. A boat excursion is another way to approach the cove, subject to conditions and local rules.
03 / The practical guide
Where can you park?
The car journey ends above the cove, not at the shoreline. Use permitted parking around the trail approach; a guaranteed space or current tariff has not been verified.
04 / The practical guide
Is there natural shade?
The surrounding cliffs shade part of the beach. This does not make the approach cool: carry drinking water and plan the uphill return before the hottest part of the day.
05 / The practical guide
What is the beach and seabed like?
A pebble shore enclosed by high cliffs. Stay aware of swimmers and boat activity near the narrow entrance.
06 / The practical guide
Is it accessible?
The land route is unsuitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. The tourist board explicitly cautions about visiting with small children because of the difficult climb back. Boat access does not automatically provide an accessible transfer.
07 / The practical guide
What facilities are available?
Treat Stiniva as a self-sufficient outing. Reliable toilet, shower, drinking-water and lifeguard provision has not been confirmed; carry what you need and take rubbish out.

When is the best time to go?
Our suggestion: start early, choose dry conditions and leave enough energy for the return climb. A famous, enclosed cove can feel crowded even with relatively few visitors.
Make it a stay
Where should you stay nearby?
Vis town or Komiža offers a broader choice of accommodation and services. Choose a south-coast base if quiet surroundings matter more than walking to town; arrange transport before booking.

What else is nearby?
Combine a short beach visit with the island’s interior villages. Avoid adding another demanding coastal walk if the Stiniva climb already stretches your group.
