An island name is not an arrival plan
Check whether you need a car ferry or a passenger-only service, which port it uses, and how you will reach the beach afterwards. An island can have several ports separated by a substantial drive. Read the current operator timetable for the actual travel date.
Parking is only the first part of access
A car park described as “at the beach” may sit above a steep path. Ask about the final walking route, surface and number of steps. At Lubenice, the village and the shore are very different destinations.
Have a plan for a full car park
Choose an alternative developed beach or return at another time. Do not park across emergency access, village entrances or narrow passing places. A popular photograph is not a reason to create a dangerous roadside stop.
Check fares and tariffs at the source
Prices can vary by date, vehicle, service and local operator. Use current transport and parking information instead of screenshots from an old trip report. Keep the last return sailing and any check-in requirements in your itinerary.
Use our destination network for context
Beach guides answer the shoreline questions; destination guides help you decide where to stay and what else to do. Explore Kvarner, Krk, Cres, Hvar, Istria and Zadar through the relevant links on each beach page. Avoid an itinerary that turns every swim into another long transfer.
